6-Week Pottery Course

at Studio 150 · Milton Keynes, Woburn Sands

Six weeks of wheel throwing in Woburn Sands — Tuesday or Sunday groups, everything included.

If you have ever wanted to learn how to use the pottery wheel, this six-week course is the perfect place to start. You'll learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing guided by expert instructors at every stage — it doesn't matter if you've never touched clay before. Each week builds on the last, letting you steadily grow your skills and confidence: from wedging and centring clay, through throwing different forms, to trimming techniques and adding handles.

The course runs weekly for six weeks, with a seventh week reserved for glazing — the session where you add colour and finish your pieces. You'll leave with a wonderful new skill set and a collection of your very own finished, glazed pots.

Course details

  • Duration: six weekly classes of 2.5 hours, plus the glazing week

  • Cost: £260, with all materials and firing included

  • Clay allowance: 12kg per person — 4 to 6 balls of clay in each class

  • Groups: Tuesday-evening and Sunday-morning tracks — pick one and stay with it for the six weeks

Good to know

Public course dates need at least six guests to run. In the unlikely event we don't reach that number we'll cancel the class, let you know the day before, and offer a full refund or a reschedule — keep an eye on your email and SMS the day before your start date.

The making area at Studio 150 is on the first floor, accessible only via stairs.

Your finished pieces are ready for collection two to three weeks after the last class, and we hold them for 30 days once we let you know they're ready.

Me and my friend had a great experience at Social Pottery Making. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable even as beginners. The painting session was fun. All the staff are lovely and welcoming. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested.

Social Pottery helped us organize a beautiful pottery painting workshop for 30 students! Everyone had a great time. Chloe was especially helpful through the process, and extremely accommodating to all our requests! A must do for anyone looking for a nice decompression workshop!

KADRA made us feel so welcomed and gave us a tutorial at the beginning. She kept on checking up on us too. I ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk and it was really nice. Overall wholesome vibe 😊. Will 100% recommend this to friends and will come again🙌🏾🥳
