We are looking for a freelance Studio Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our studio space. Experience in hospitality is required, and an interest in ceramics is a bonus, although full training will be provided at the start.
You don’t need to be fully versed in the technical aspects of ceramics, but a practical mindset, positive attitude, and a welcoming approach will help you thrive in this role.
As a freelance Studio Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring every guest feels welcome, supported, and inspired throughout their experience. You’ll be engaged on a flexible, shift-based basis, aligned with studio needs, events, and your availability.
This is a varied and fast-paced role involving direct customer interaction, studio operations, and on-the-spot problem-solving. Tasks range from managing enquiries (phone and in person), to supporting sessions and events and maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming studio environment. No two days are the same—from helping run a busy session to ensuring our guests have a great experience while keeping the space running smoothly behind the scenes.
Be based locally and able to travel to the studio
Have flexibility in their schedule (including evenings and weekends)
Have experience in customer-facing roles
Be professional, friendly, patient, and reliable
Be confident working independently and taking initiative
Full training will be provided in studio-specific practices and customer service approach, with the opportunity to bring your own personality and energy into the role.
This is a freelance position, with work offered on a flexible, as-needed basis.
If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, send an application including your CV, a short statement about why you would like this role, and examples of your work (if you have some).
